Teaching Experience

I have been blessed with many opportunities to teach in many different capacities over the past 20 years of my life. I was able to begin developing my career at an early age (16) because I discovered what I wanted to do with my life when I was very little- I wanted to teach music. I searched out every opportunity I could find to learn and grow as an educator. I have taught in both public and private schools, in churches, and in private studios. I have been a band director, a percussion ensemble director, an elementary music teacher, and a piano, percussion, vocal, and guitar instructor. I have directed youth praise bands, adult, youth, and children’s choirs, as well as served as church accompanist. I have led countless VBS (vacation bible school) music teams, taught summer music camp classes, and assisted in marching band rehearsals. I have taught students who are as young as 3 and as old as 55. I have helped undergraduate music education students with their practicum teaching assignments and presented my own unique lesson ideas to fellow teachers during professional development workshops. I have loved every minute of it. I love being a teacher. I can’t imagine doing anything else with my life.
